Jackie Robinson Exhibits.... need help

Just picked up these two Robinsons today at a collectibles show. Just wondering how the one is so dark. There was a box full of these 1947-66 Exhibits and several had varying degrees of the darkness. If you look you can even see the slightest hint of darkness on the lower right corner of the brighter one. Is this a production issue with the development of the photo image? The card is in great shape other than being dark with no creases. Backs of both are the correct tan color. Thanks for any insight.

Any ideas?
If you haven't checked over there, you could try asking across the street. adam (exhibitman) knows a lot about Exhibit cards, if anybody knows he would know.
chance to show a couple low grade exhibits!
Exhibits were printed for a long time and distributed in a few different ways. There are both explained and unexplained color variations and that is all that is, I think. Could you put them flat and side by side? Might be easier to get a sense of the difference.
Here’s a scan of my Jackie for your comparison and a rather unique (I think) ‘63 Red Stat back Mantle. On this card it is only the stats that are supposed to be red though the card has a reddish hue to it’s normally greyscale front I haven’t seen on too many…
…with my main point being that because of the long time and great numbers of printings and the colors that were used for some printings, it’s possible the explanation for your first Jackie is as simple as it was from a first run sheet after they just reloaded and it was over saturated, like using “too much ink”. I just sort of assumed the Mantle above was the result of something similar - a minor production error.
