Awesome thread. I have the Morgan CC series, but no CC gold. Thanks for the great pictures guys...Cheers, RickO
That's pretty good to have that in one's collection
1883-CC PCGS XF-45

First CC gold bought. Bought raw in 2003. Finally slabbed in 2018.
1876-CC NGC XF-45
Second slabbed coin and first slabbed gold ever bought. Had since 2006.
Throw a coin enough times, and suppose one day it lands on its edge.
Bought from a forum member a few years back. It was ex DWN.
Here is a $10 and another $20:

I should have added, that a $20 CC is on my want list. Some day, I will add that coin.
Nice! Definitely a candidate for a gold CAC sticker.

Very fortuitous the CC was preserved!
Agree! That's a super nice looking coin!
Overstruck by Dan @dcarr for Terry @USAROK and now in my collection
It's interesting that the obverse stars are exactly opposite many of the letters on the reverse on that cutout gold half eagle.

This is a great thread— many beautiful CC Gold examples have been shared here. I have had a CC Eagle on my waitlist for a long time, and this post has motivated me even more. Thanks for sharing!
Here’s my only cc gold. Picked it up for around melt years ago. Could not pass it up. Any counter stamp help would be nice

My 92-CC $10

the c's are for crusty
My two double eagles. I got both of these back in 09 and 10 when we were getting the ridiculous rebates for using the MS Bing search engine to find things on Ebay. Net costs were $1600 for the 84 and $1750 for the 75:

I like the original skin on this one:
i have heard/read that a couple of the branch mints, long ago, also had iron mixed in with the gold/copper and that may be why we get some of the more interesting "toning" on some of the gold. i just always presumed it was because of the copper.
maybe it is crusty steel instead of crusty gold but here is an exceptional 1872 $20 Carson City cancelled die.

I like the date on that one.
Love the double eagles in this thread. Here is another...
