Just saw this on the news. Today is dedicated to the "penny". In recognition of the cent first made in 1787 designed by Benjamin Franklin with one side reading MIND YOUR BUSINESS. Looking that up, it was known as the Franklin Cent or Fugio Cent, fugio being latin meaning time flies. Anybody here have one??

I did not know there was a day dedicated to the cent. While I have plenty of cents, I do not have a fugio.... Cheers, RickO
It's ironic that the coin pictured is the New Haven so-called restrike which is a counterfeit produced in 1859.

@PerryHall seriously? That's not the real deal? That's what came up when I was searching for a pic. How about this one? It's a smaller picture but perhaps it authentic ??
That's the real deal. Check the PCGS Coin Facts. The Fugio cent is the first coin listed and there are pics of several varieties and also the New Haven Restrike which is easy to identify since the rings are much thinner than on the original coins.
