Since slabs are not air tight, should I feel bad if I, or others, hold slabs with bare hands?

It's good to know some people treat their coins so well!

not sure why the gloves ...it maybe a left over practice from COVID concerns and touching items that others had handled.

I do use those resealable polypropylene bags to store and protect the slabs from more scratches. They do say that they are acid and PVC free but who knows?

PS: Nice looking piece (J257) ... gee I wish I had picked that one up before I ran out of money ... but I did win an NGC 63 GILT that does look quite nice.

has anyone tested (with a significantly less important/valuable) coin(s) by dropping them on their hard tile floor? i know we've had a couple/few threads over the years of this type of slip up.

i agree it is nice to take care of your slabs.

on that note; wasn't it purported that pcgs newer gen of slabs were scratch-resistant?

anyone submitting high-value slabs during c19 era (when we noticed non-sealing pcgs slabs) should probably check them not only for the possibility that a little slip up in the hand could cause it to come apart and sent the coin flying but also to prevent long-term exposure to outside contaminants.

WHAT A COIN in the op. just wow.

I will use gloves when handling raw coins of value.... Never with slabs. Just not concerned about air tight integrity. Slab scratches can be polished. Cheers, RickO

And yet there is still sticker residue on the back of the slab. :D

One of my biggest pet peeves! It took me an hour of soaking and scraping with Goo Gone to get this residue off this recent purchase. If one needs to apply a sticker, at least use a removable sticker!

Strange place to put it. What were they thinking about by covering the area you pay to view on label 🙀🦫
