My coworker texted me some photos of him holding his new kilo silver coin…

It was in his hand so I could get an idea of just how big it is. I didn’t want his ego to get the best of him, so I quickly put together a reply…

Those aren't coins. Those are silver bullion bars.

Whatever he wants to call it, I like
He was showing me a handful of silver. I showed him an armful.
A 35 ounce coin ? He must have some good suspenders to hold his pants up.
That is an arm full of silver for sure. I have a one pound silver ASE.... had it for a long time now. That is the only big silver I have. The rest are coin or item (skull, bullet etc) or rounds. Cheers, RickO
Reminds me of this picture of a 5 kilo bar…

I'm still kicking myself for not buying a 100oz bar when I thought the premium was a bit too much and the bar I wanted was $1700. That was a bad decision.

When spot dipped to $12 a couple years back, I had my eye on a couple old “grease bars” that were issued for redeemed Silver certificates. Each was about 100oz and a buck or two over spot. I hesitated and they were gone that same day.
At the same time, One dealer had a pretty 100oz poured Academy but he wouldn’t take less than $2000 which is like 80% premium… I passed on that one as well.
I seem to prefer to pay at least $30 per Oz for my silver…

I have 10oz-kilo bars that were bought at good prices, but the overall cost of the 100oz made me hesitate... and then silver spiked. Oh, well.
