This is one of my favorite So-Called Dollar designs, which I've followed for years and finally picked up a specimen.
In hand, this looks gorgeous and I couldn't be happier having waited!
1916 Panama-California / San Diego Exposition Official Medal - Gilt
Designer: Clifford Kennedy Berryman
Engraver: Charles Edward Barber
Catalog: HK-431
Grade: NGC MS65 POP 22/3/0
Out of the certified specimens, the following census exists:
- NGC MS65 - Zoins specimen
- NGC MS65 - Tim Gabriele specimen
- NGC MS64 - Richard Stuart specimen
I will say that out of the 3, I prefer mine the most! Ownership adds a point

I have one in silver (HK-426) on its way back to me from ATS. I have always loved this design.
USAF (Ret) 1974 - 1994 - The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. Remembering RickO, a brother in arms.
Very nice design.... Surprised the designers initials are not on piece. Cheers, RickO
Beautiful piece!
Great expo

I love this design too! Uncle Sam played an outsized role in my formative years and still holds a special place in my heart!
Please post your silver here when you get it! I'd love to see it!
Did you get a PhotoVision?
Thanks for the replies @pcgscacgold @Treashunt !
I've been following this for years, telling myself to hold off for a nice specimen until I couldn't pass on this piece. I'm super pleased with it!
The initials are not on this piece, but it's nice that we know who the designer is in this case.
Here's a very nice Panama-California Expo So-Called Dollar that does have the designer / minter's name on it but I haven't been able to track them down. It says "E.A. CASPARY. L.A. CAL." but I haven't been able to track down this company.
This photo is from @JRay123 and cataloged as Raymond-82.
