Positive Coin Shipment Experience

There are many discussions here about bad luck with coin shipments like damaged packing, lost or stolen contents, delays, etc. I am always saddened to hear about such things.

Just wanted to relate something that really impressed me. This is about the purchase of a 1797 Draped Bust Cent that I posted about here several days ago. It was a huge buy for me so after debating with myself for a long time I decided to pull the trigger. I went to the dealer's web site on a Monday morning, used a credit card for safety and placed the order. I then called the owner of the shop to discuss the coin for a bit and he thanked me for the order. I live in Texas and the dealer is in Maryland.

The coin was delivered by the USPS on Wednesday mid-day, signature required. That was about 48 hours! Wish everyone could have such good fortune.

Im sure there are WAY more positive experiences than negatives. The bad things always seem to get the press though.

I agree, the bad experiences get the attention... understandably. In the media - if it bleeds, it leads.... on the coin forum, if it hurts, it is posted.... So, nice to see a good experience posted. We (myself included) should post the good news more often. Cheers, RickO

I am guilty as charged. Have had many wonderful experience’s.
I don’t need help with them I need comfort and understanding when there’s a problem. 😂😉
So I’ll try to post about positive experiences .

I have learned to be patient. I had bought a Morgan dollar online, and it went two weeks without any updates after arriving at the next transit location. It was last scanned up north near Canadian border where there had been a bad snow storm. After about two weeks, it was scanned again and it arrived safely!!
