Central States Numismatic Convention

Anyone here going to be attending the show? Can't believe I've never attended this show despite it being basically in my neighborhood! Unfortunately, the dates conflict with school.

Am I right to think that Saturday will be like the ANA WFOM show where most dealers have already packed up and left? Also, does anyone have experience on when the dealers usually cleanup for the day? I'm thinking of attending on either Thursday or Friday after school which will get me there around 3:30 and don't know if this will be too late to see much stuff. One last question, I received an email from PCGS saying there is free entry for PCGS members. How do I know if I qualify and how do I get the free entry?

Thanks guys. :)

I will be attending on Thursday. This will be my first visit to the show. I will be interested to hear what the regulars have to say. If the estimate of 350 dealers is accurate, it should be a good show to attend. The August ANA in Rosemont is a must as well. Probably also near you.

Yup, been to the ANA show the past 3 times it was in the Chicago area. Surprised it was going to be back in Chicago but I'm not complaining.

I had set up at the Central States show several times. I would encourage you to attend every day, because the show is busy until closing during the weekdays. On Saturday, get there at opening and although dealers will be leaving at various times during the day, you'll still get in a few good hours at a good show.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably attend Thursday till 7 when it closes and possibly make it back again on Saturday. Will you be setting up this year?

I think I will attend Wednesday and Thursday. I am hopeful it will be a good show with that many dealers. Lot viewing will also be interesting at Heritage and Legend have lot viewing at the show.

I have attended several and I always enjoyed the show. Some dealers will leave on Fridays, with more leaving on Saturday, early afternoon. Thursday is a good day to go. Parking is free and convenient access to the show. Lots to see with the opportunity for a nice purchase. I’m hoping to go on Thursday or Friday.
    Enjoy!

I'm sure I'll be there the first day of public admission. Saturday will reveal about 1/3 of the Dealers are already on the road. Still should be a nice show.

As far as free entry, I got the email too and there isn't much info there. Someone asked on a prior thread and the only answer was to just show the email when registering.

I am hoping some dealers will have Daniel Carr restrikes on display and for sale. Those do not show up in my area.

This sounds as if it will be a good show, with several forum members attending. Show reports please... from everyone. Pictures will be appreciated as well. Cheers, RickO

Planning on being there Thursday through Saturday -- imaging coins, talking VAMs, looking for something cool to buy.

    Edit: Table 805.

It's been three years so I'm chompin' at the bit and I highly recommend Thursday.
I will have several coins to trade and a load of cash to make up for the last several years.

It's kind of crazy to think that it has been two years since they had the show, time flies. I will be set up there and really looking forward to being at the show.

Browsing the dealer list today it is looking like it’s going to be similar to ANA or FUN with many national dealers in attendance. I am looking forward to it and I am hoping PNG day is good! Please DM me if you want to meet up at the show or after the show Wednesday night
