Any clue to what is sitting next to the mint mark on this dime?

    Simply an optical illusion, but kind of neat! It is just toning but it sure looks like "D D".

    It could be worn PMD.... Would need super magnification, preferably under good lighting, to determine further. Cheers, RickO
