Had a Whoops when printing my latest PCGS Submission.

I finished my online pdf submission form and printed it. When I did, I checked over the info and all seemed ok. Then just as I was placing the copies in the shipping container, I noticed the submission number looked wrong. Sure enough it was different than what was on the pdf file online. Luckily, I caught this and changed my coin line# and submission form # tag in each coin. What a nightmare that would have been if I had not caught that. This is the first time this has ever happened. Weird.
Well, its been 3 months on my current submission. Hope things improve.
Jim

That was an 'almost' mistake.... Catching it prevented it from being a 'real' mistake. :D;) Cheers, RickO

I did the exact same thing on my last submission and had to change the labels on every coin with the right submission number.

If it gives you any hope, my submissions rec 12/27, the regular order is marked as shipped, but no tracking yet, the modern value order is in the encapsulation stage as of last Friday. Hopefully you see progress soon!

Yikes, close call. I piggyback on a friend's submission, so I just send it to him and let him do all the work :D

If you are viewing a PDF of a blank form and you scroll a certain amount of the first page out of view, then scroll it back again, the number will change. The people checking over your order before grading would probably have fixed it. I believe they put the coins in fresh flips to prevent secret messages from being passed to graders on the customer flips.

Been down this road, I usually line up the coins, and once I get the sheet filled out print the sub form, then go back and put the sub number on the flips, If you reload screen or do anything extra, it changes the sub number on the form.

Thanks, all. I did not know that.

Secret messages being passed to graders?!? Intriguing idea! If they change the flip, maybe the message could be written on the coin in UV ink or some such. What would the message say? The mind boggles!

The message would simply be an indication to a grader in the know whose coin it is. Writing style, color, a mark on the label, could all tip someone off, which is why the submissions need to be anonymized before going to grading.

Ah, so not so much 'secret message', but 'grader might know from whence comes the coin'. Makes sense...
