I wrote them a note and asked them to remove the listing and why. Hopefully, they will do so. Shame there are already bids made. Thanks Mark.

Well, (really) he should take it back to the bank and tell them that they gave him a counterfeit coin and tell them they should know better than to pass out counterfeit money.

That's one I've not heard before.

Just to see what response I get I just sent a message.
Notice the item description edits
"I bought a roll of 1944 pennies and they were uncirculated and idk why but one of them was the one pictured"
"This item has to be real I got it from the bank"
When was the last time you bought a roll of uncirculated 1944 pennies from the bank?
This just keeps getting better!

Make up the lies as you go.
Wasn’t a full roll
It was 49 + 1
Tell them someone passed a counterfeit to the bank. And they should return it for investigation because passing counterfeits is criminal.
It would be more believable if he got it in his trick or treat bag. Maybe. Peace Roy

I want to know where his bank is. I would love to go pickup some 1944 Uncirculated Rolls. I'll just throw away the 09SVDB. If I got a few hundred rolls I might be ahead of Joey.

Anyone else messaging this seller?
I just got done with 12 messages!
I said
"This coin is a counterfeit.
You should end your listing and do a little more research on it."
They said
"I got it from the bank"
I said
"It doesn't matter where you got it, it's a counterfeit.
In your listing you said you got it in an uncirculated roll of 1944 cents.
Are you saying your bank is giving out uncirculated rolls of wheat cents?"
They said
"I swear to you they had a ton of old Pennie’s that I bought from them the wrapping had 1944 wrote on it and I seen it and asked them if I could but it she said yeah how many I said how many you got that says 1944she looked and had three rolls of pennies 2 with 1944 and a one had 1946 I got all 3 rolls and every penny was a 1944 and 1946 expected the 09 and one roll had a 51 double struck"
I said
"Like I said it doesn't matter where you got it, it's a counterfeit."
"Do you think all the other people sending you messages about it being fake are wrong too?
Your coin is being talked about on several coin forums and all the opinions are the same... it's a fake."
They said
"Look man I don’t know why you don’t just leave me alone cause idk that it is fake cause I GOT IT FROM MY BANK"
It goes on but you get the idea.

on the bright side, the bad liars are a lot lot less dangerous than the good ones
Just check on the listing, it went POOF!
Ebay took it down.
I guess they didn't care if he got it from a bank either
Again, good job and a thanks to everyone!
