More buyers are out there popping up.
A Points and Miles blogger (Vinh from Miles Per Day) is offering a profit of:
$350 for the 4-coin set
$175 for the 1/2 oz coin
$75 for the 1/4 oz coin
$25 for the 1/10 oz coin
He's providing insured shipping labels too...
This opportunity will def. help with paying for other coins.
Interestingly, with a large amount of "BackOrders" from the 2022 Proof Gold Eagle sales, some buyers are not waiting around anymore and advising those who are "backordered" by the Mint to go ahead and cancel their orders.
I also know of another buyer who just issued a notice to their sellers, that backorders will not be paid as much as originally agreed to, after this week.
And PFS (lowballer buyers), earlier this month, lowered their original (low) payout amount significantly lower (only paying $33 profit for the 4-coin set)!
I expect there have been a few cancellations of backordered coins/sets and even more will be cancelled in the coming days.
This should lead to some 2022 Proof Gold Eagle coins & sets to show back up as available on the Mint's website once they start clearing out the "Backorders"
Even better news, prices have dropped on the Mint's website for all of these coins & sets and they are now being sold cheaper than opening day prices (assuming that any become available & the price of Gold does not go higher than current prices).
I don't know if this is really an update, but I do see that the 1oz and the 1/10th oz are available via backorder now on the Mint's website. I could have swore that all were listed as unavailable last week.
If it does go on backorder, cancel your original and re-order - you'll save yourself $12.50!
I tend to miss those flash notices people post here. Even so, I feel like I'd be swapping 1 B/O for another, and wind up at the back of the line again - for $12.50.
When I got the palladium coin last year I coulda saved a few hundred if I did just that. But my coin wound up grading PR70, and I saw others mention things like rim chatter on the ones they got, so ... who knows shrug?

Wonder when I'll get my 1/4 oz proof?
Hmmm - whaddya know? With the talk of the Negro League coins shipping, I checked my CC, and the amount for my .25 oz AGE proof "ping'd". Looks like that may be coming to me soon. (squeeky wheel?)

Looks like all backordered AGE proofs are "processing" today.
Three days later...and still "Processing" for me.
Hopefully, some time next week they'll change it to "shipped", yet for a week I'll check the tracking number and it will only indicate that the Mint printed a shipping label.
...and yet, my credit card has already been charged for something "processing".
I guess "processing", just means "processing your credit card" before we generate a bunch of shipping labels that sit on someone's desk for a week.
Are those Negro League coins still in "processing" too??
So, does anyone know the reasons as to why these 2022 gold proof coins were backordered??
The Mint had a known scheduled release of the 2022 gold proof coins, with a limited (known) mintage/product limit.
Does the US Mint only mint limited gold proof coins on demand??
Another point: the gold proof coins, on release day, sold at a higher price.
Yet today, if one could be purchased on their website it would be at a lower price.
So, if the mint backordered proof gold coins, should they not give a refund based upon the current (lower) price, at the time of shipping??

My half ounce arrived so late, no FS was available, even though my order number confirmation was quite early. It did seem wrong to have such a minting or shipping delay on a relatively known low mintage that was sure to get sold at some point.
I liked reading about your refund current price idea , until you think about the result if gold goes through the roof, and so you should owe the mint more before you receive it. LOL

Yep, I realize that there is two sides to every coin (no pun intended) but the Mint set the original sales price a few days before the March 17th sale date. We (those who purchased) agreed to that sales price when we purchased these gold proofs and expected that the Mint had a product ready to ship.
Again, this was a limited production run/limit that had probably been well planned/finalized back in 2021 (at least I hope so). Some of us did not learn of any backorder status until a few days after the sale. What really sucks, is the the Mint does not manage anyone's expectations as to a late ship date or any reason for a backorder and leaves buyers in a lurch. Even worse, the CSR's have NO clue either and can't pass along any reliable info. The only way anyone finds out what is going on behind the scenes at the Mint is if some publication such as CoinWorld does a story on the reasoning for the Mint not being ready to ship a limited production run of coins.
In the end, I'm just saying that they're the ones responsible for the late shipping - we (customers) had no control over any of it - we assumed that they had product on hand when we bought it (at least when I made my purchase, it did not say "BackOrder")...so, I believe they should offer us the lower sales price due to their late shipping. If they want to play the other side and raise the sales cost due to their late shipping and the metals market going up, that's fine too - but we should be offered the chance to cancel as well, prior to charging us/shipping. I could live with that expectation!

So do many people here who ordered the 4 coin set show a current back order status? That’s what I’m dealing with at present.
If anyone has coins in hand or already shipped and wants to sell, please pm me.
