Most 1972 coins have no mint mark.

"No initials" could just be a filled die.

Add link to an example that you feel is expensive. Describe how yours does or does not match the other.

All 1972 cents minted in Philadelphia have no mint mark. The lack of one does not mean they're valuable.

  • It looks a lot like this one from etsy

Most coins like that on etsy are just false advertizements. The $17,500 coin is worth $.01. Someone just trying to trick some beginner with money. Ignore most everything on etsy of any value until you know better what you are doing. Also, do a little research with google. Many free websites that would have answered your question in regards to the lack of a mint mark. Good luck.

@lehmancurtis147 .... Welcome aboard. The coin you linked is worth one cent.... It is not rare, it is not an error. Cheers, RickO

Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value. Zero. Voltaire. Ebay coinbowlllc

  • The coin is an offset die.

If you mean misaligned die, yes, the obverse has a very slight MAD that adds no value.
