What kind of pmd coating has been placed on this Everglades Quarter?

It has gained a little weight 5.8g vs 5.67g normal. Weird color obv and rev different. Got this in change.

Folgers?
They do not have spittoons in bars anymore, so that one likely spent time - a lot of time - in unfriendly dirt. Cheers, RickO
My guess is nothing has been added intentionally. Just environmental damage. As for the weight... there is a tolerance range, and the quarter is probably within acceptable range.
Looks like a metal detector find.

Shellac, varnish, deck stain, who knows. Soak it in acetone and see what happens. Peace Roy

Just for those who asked for an acetone soak. Here are before(#1) and after(#2) an acetone soak for 30 minutes. Weight remained exactly the same, as did the color pretty much.
