Dan Carr Moonlight Mint Open House Questions

I tried posting in another thread but didn't get a response. How do you find out information about upcoming open houses at the moonlight mint? Outside of open houses, are they open year round? Family and I are considering a trip to CO this summer and want to make this a stop.
Thanks for any information you can provide!
Justin

I would go on his site and send him a email directly.
There have been no Open Houses since pre-COVID. As mentioned by Coinnmore, best to go straight to the source for this info.

Good luck, would definitely be on my list of 'must visit' if I were going to be in the area. Cheers, RickO
IDK maybe @dcarr will see this

send an email to him from here as well
You can email him and he will email you back often same day. He also posts here so he will probably answer the post. He is incredible collaborative and impressed me once big time by responding to my (probably stupid) questions and generally cares for collectors. He’s a legend of our time - no question about it. Like a modern day Zerbe (meant as compliment)
There used to be a field trip to my mint for one of the ANA Summer Seminar classes ("Modern Minting").
The last one was 2019. There was no Summer Seminar in 2020 or 2021. And this year it appears that the Modern Minting class is not offered. Those were generally the only official Open House events and were the main reason I made "Open House" tokens each year so as to have something to demonstrate with for the class.
My facility is not open to the public, but I have had a few informal small groups and individuals visit since 2019 (these were generally past or present customers). I sometimes will consider hosting a visitor, if I know something about that person or persons.
Well that was easy! Have a good day. Peace Roy

Ah, well if only some of us far-flung collectors could make it! Dan, I remember you coming to the Baltimore show many years ago - not the same as a visit to your minting operations though....Hint, hint....
Well, just Love coins, period.
The 2019 class was offered by Dr. James Wiles of Variety Vista, and it was a course for the ANA Numismatic Diploma Program. In 2020, the class was to be jointly offered by Wiles and Victoria Stone Moledor (of Coin World), but it was cancelled. In 2022, neither Wiles nor Moledor are mentioned in the Summer Seminar Course Catalog. Perhaps if either could be enticed to attend, the class would be on again?
Dan is a great host and if one ever has an opportunity to visit, I highly recommend reaching out to Dan and seeing if it can be arranged! I've been collecting Dan's work since 2006 and was only recently able to visit the Mint, but since then, I've been lucky enough to visit 3 times! Dan is an excellent host and great at demonstrating modern minting techniques! Every time is a treat!
Since not everyone gets an opportunity to go, I was recently discussing setting up a Dan Carr coin club, which could meet at the Moonlight Mint each year, along with publishing a Journal and running online meetings. There was quite a bit of interest in participating, but not so much in presenting or giving talks, so I'm back to the drawing board on how to sustain it. I have a few talks I could give and articles I could write, but without others, I'm worried it wouldn't be sustainable. I'm still working on this idea. If anyone wants to collaborate on this, let me know!
By the way, the Moonlight Mint trip was highlighted in the catalog and would have been the highlight of the class for me!
