Perhaps a new RPD or RPM? Doesn't look worthy of a bean to me if that's your arguement! :#

    Maybe if it was a 58+! I don't see going 6X's + Price Guide for a 55!

I am noticing quite a few AU55 CAC set builders.

    Pop 2 in 55.

Do you honestly think there are only 2 of the 28 PCGS has graded 55 would qualify for a bean? They must all be horrible pieces of sh*t if they are worse than this coin! I would also wager there are quite a few 02-S's out there uncertified(possibly double the POP!). There are only a few date Barber Dimes one can feel reasonably sure there aren't a substantial uncertified population out there as they have historically not been worth grading. If people are basing paying these stupid numbers for Barber Dimes based on CAC Pops they are in for a rude awakening in a few years and setting the stage for a few market players to make a ton of coin off them!

Evidently two bidders wanted that coin.... 7 and 8..... Hope 8 is happy. Cheers, RickO

Bidders 7 and 8 took it from what might have been a $288 close to the final close. That's pretty astounding for a coin that just looks, you know, like a dipped and otherwise "common" AU Barber dime.

From previous sale of this exact coin at Heritage -
    Barber Dime 1902-S 10C AU55 PCGS. CAC. PCGS Population (18/83). NGC Census: (4/53). Mintage: 2,070,000. ...
Sold on Aug 30, 2016 for:
    $220.90

Not a bad investment. Note PCGS population increased by 10 in almost seven years. It will be interesting to see how many more now appear on the market for sale.

I am not announcing that there are only 2 AU 55 CAC capable coins that exist. I am only relating that the hunger for CAC AU55 is insatiable at times. That is a fact that is proven by the crazy registry or whatever bidding that is happening now.

    Facts are stubborn things.

Actually, there were three bidders that made fresh bids during that last hour of bidding. Bidder #6 raised the stakes to $1,800.
