Please help explain PSA insured shipping charges to a newbie...

I'm sending in my first 3 cards to be graded, they are as follows:

  1. max declared value: $4000 (Service Level: Super Express $300)
  2. max declared value: $2000 (Service Level: Express $150)
  3. max declared value: $1400 (Service Level: Regular $100)

I did 3 separate orders (because of the 3 different service levels) and will mail them in all together in the same box. It looks like I'll be charged a $29.00 insured shipping charge for each order for a total of $87? Is that correct? Or is it a single $29.00 charge?

Thank you.

They’ll come back separately (most expensive card fastest) so $87.

  • Okay. I'm following you there... that makes more sense. Thank you!

So say my next submission is at the Service Level: Economy ($999 max value) and I submit 10 cards all in the same order all together at the same time in the same box. Do I have to pay the $29 insured shipping fee 10 times or just once for the entire order? I know I have to be a member and they are limiting the Economy level submissions right now.

And what about the Service Level: Value, does that still exist and what is the amount of the maximum declared value for it?

I have some cards I'm selling and I'm trying to separate them by the ones that make financial sense to get graded and the ones that do not and a $29 shipping fee definitely comes into that equation.

    Thanks!

Return shipping is based on the number of cards in the submission and the total declared value. Shipping is never per card, it is per shipment...

  • Thanks! So in my scenario above, let's say I have 10 cards with a TOTAL declared value of $1-$1000 and ship them all together at the same time in the same box. I'm charged $20 x 10 = $200 for return shipping or am I charged a one time $20 total fee for the return shipping? Sorry for all the questions but this is confusing. Thanks!

10 cards, total declared value less than $1000, is $20 total shipping
