Post anything and everything that you think is cool in the world of precious metals.
And since the theme seems to be gold (or platinum) on silver, extra points for posting gold with silver background:

Best I can do is the demo, the 20 count should hit the mailbox in 3 sunrises.

All right, here is today’s pick up. I would love to get a descriptive comment such as like, love, hate, stupid, dumb, reasonable, why not, why?

I've never owned an angel, but I believe they met the standard European specs for fractional gold cons of that era. I think that they are reasonably liquid and have a nice design.

So spot +5%…. In my view it’s bullion, but as I didn’t have this coins, figure it was bullion plus something different(ie cool to own something different).

    Your thoughts are.?

Although more modern gold coins are decimalized and easier to value, most gold collectors or bullion dealers can price one of these readily, and a 5% premium over spot seems about right for this size fractional.

    Nice pickup.

The Lucky Angel is a great coin that is widely recognized and should be liquid all day long, if needed. Yours looks a lot nicer than many I have seen and I think it is a really cool pickup.

I vacillate between modern .999+ pure bullion in standard troy ounce increments and classic 90% +/- gold coins of the late 19th century and early 20th century. There are days when I'm all "Screw it, I'm selling everything and just keeping 8 or 10 rolls of 1 ounce gold eagles". And other days when eagles bore me to tears and I only want pieces with history.

So for now at least I'll do a little of each. Your angel is beautiful. Looks to be BU condition with good luster. Beautiful design. I'd keep her :)

Went to the local LCS, thinking maybe I would pick up a 1/10 or 1/4 ounce USA gold coin. They had none, but had this…hmmm, seems to be right in the middle. I like to give this LCS some business as they treat me fair. So spot +5%…. In my view it’s bullion, but as I didn’t have this coins, figure it was bullion plus something different(ie cool to own something different).

For that price, that was a great pickup!
