Home Metal Detecting

Looking for coins hidden in a brick wall.

Ok so If I were looking for Canadian silver Dollar coins from the late 1930s and into the 1940s excluding WW2 years when there were none minted, and they were hidden in a brick wall of a house built by someone's grandfather. What type of detector would be best suited for this. I have no experience with metal detecting but I have a great and exciting treasure hunt ahead of me.

I have no idea about metal detectors, but this is awesome! Good luck to you on the search.

Get a Garrett pinpointer and use that for your initial search. That should pick up any concentration of metals in the walls. Cheers, RickO

If you know someone who works for a utility company, they use a decent detector to locate buried pipes. My lcs rents out detectors for the day. Good luck. Peace Roy
