Anyone know anything about these Alaska Earthquake Medals?

Sellers pics. Was looking at some exonumia on the bay and these looked interesting. Paid like $20. I'm wondering if they were struck in the 1960s or some time later. Will update with better pics when they get here.

$20 seems like a bargain for interesting subject matter like that in a custom lucite holder. I've never seen them before but suspect you are correct that they were struck in the 1960's.
The material types remind me a lot of the Franklin Mint medals I’ve see often. Still a neat set. If I were an Alaskan, I would be very interested.
I would have dropped $20 on that!
I figured the holder was worth at least $20 by itself.
That's an interesting thought. Didn't think of that.
They are neat for sure, I would have bought it too!. May want to add a picture of the set on tokencatalog (They have 3 of the 4 listed as White Metal and Bronze) plus if you get the bug, there are several other tokens commemorating the event.
The 2 silver ones should have individual numbers stamped into them.

When I take new pics will do that!
Yes, I noticed that they are stamped which is neat. My set says 237 on both.🙂
Only one is silver. Nickel silver has no silver in it.
I would have paid $20 also.
I have never seen them. Never knew to look for them. Nice score, I would easily have paid $20 for that set. Want to double your money?
Interesting find... Certainly would have attracted my attention. Would like to see the better pictures when you get them. Cheers, RickO
Doubt it was Franklin Mint. Not their style. More likely somebody like Osborne Register.
If you could search back issues of Coin World or Numismatic Scrapbook for 1964 you could probably find an ad or a press release, but they are not available yet as Amos Press or its descendant company are sitting on the copyrights.
You might try checking the ads in The Numismatist online. Long shot, but possible.
There’s half a dozen different singles showing up on eBay search. I have gleaned information by reading the listings and perhaps getting in touch.

Thanks. Anything to add from the search?
Looking forward to the OPs better photos.
Thanks for posting the "better photos."
I can offer one clue that might help to identify at least the time period. You will note that the magnitude is stated as 8.4. That was the number assigned at the time. Today the magnitude has been upped to 9.2. Find out when that revision took place and you can rule out manufacture after that date.
(Accordingly I would suspect these would likely have been contemporary with the event itself and not part of some more recent set of Earthquake Medals.)
Ok that makes sense. Thanks!
In trying to find out more about the history of the Alaska Earthquake Medal Token Google directed me to my own prior post from this site:

I wonder if any TPG certify these.

Thank you for linking that. I didn't realize 131 people lost their lives. Terrible.
@coinJP
Thanks.
It was pretty amazing to find my past thread here on this website pop up on the first page of my Google search.
