Found this CRH. What's up with the date and mint mark??
The copper layer looks to have been push over and bunched up in that area, surprised that the layer did not split and see the zinc core.
I was going to say die fatigue, but plating issues are also a possibility.
The real issue, though, is with me. I saw "18D" in the title and immediately thought 1918.
You may be correct @JBK I only looked at the date initially, but I notice that it has the ridge ring and some more extreme strike doubling going on around the IGWT.
I'm going with Die wear also seeing it has that ridge ring that was also noted.......... although that is pretty extreme on the D
