Coin Find At The Casino

Every once in a while I get lucky with a find. Always cash out the vouchers from the slots with a high change return. Over .80 cents. In the past have received 2 silver nicks, a silver quarter. No error coins as yet. Still hoping. Also pre 82 cents and some wheats. This time I received a 1973 Balboa "Quarter". Nothing major, but something different hitting the coin return tray. Not silver, has the copper ring around the edge. A Fine grade I would say. Can see how it sneaked into the machine counter as it's the same size as a Wash. quarter. Into the "oddball" can it goes.

The Panama coins of that era are struck by the US for Panama and use exactly the same planchets as US coins. They are also on par exchange wise.

I do most of my shopping in cash and even pay the bill at restaurants in cash. All to get change - looking for a W quarter in the wild. No luck so far, so will continue. Lots of foreign coins in the coinstar reject slot though. Cheers, RickO

I found 2 W quarters in change early last year and none at all since.
