A VERY conservative grade by PCGS!!!!

I think this might be a tad better than VG10.

Seriously net graded
I suppose I could see the coin as a F12.

mechanical error
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
Return to our host or submit for gold sticker.
Get a gold CAC sticker on that slab and someone will pay MS67 money for it.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

A real problem for the owner as it isn't worth the cost of fooling around with having it reslabbed with the correct grade.
It wouldn't cost him anything if he gave it to PCGS at a coin show they attended. I'm sure they would be more than happy to correct this obvious blunder. Personally, I would keep it as is as a neat conversation piece.

Wow... certainly appears to be a label (mechanical) error.... Let us know what you do with it.... Cheers, RickO
It’s the lighting, makes it look better.
VG10+
To all - Could this mean that there’s a VG coin somewhere in a 64 holder?
Or is the mistake likely limited to this single coin?
Yep CAC it!
Thats exactly what I would do. Then it becomes most definitely a conversation piece.
WS
Platinum CAC
Diamond CAC? How bout just a silver cac sticker.
Instagram
It was part of a bulk submission... all others were graded appropriately... MS64-66 but this one slipped through as a VG coin!!
But it may cost a lot of money to get to such a show if he does not live in the Los Angeles/Orange County area.
Net graded for the toning.
Two out of three ain't bad? They got the date and denomination right...

I hope this isn't a trend!
I would get the gold sticker and auction it, sucker would go to the moon in this market
Quality control?
i could see a gold bean in that
So does this mean that the other 47-d with the MS64 grade won't CAC??? 🤣
C'mon man, we all know you can't get a plus grade on a VG. Off to CAC with it & it should come back with at least 6 gold beans (which may result in a too-crowded looking slab).

I didn't know PCGS used EAC grading on quarters.

How does that sneak passed QA?
Collector, occasional seller
Sounds like what some people here would say about my first guesses on one of my future submission coins.
I first would think,"yeah, it's got to be a ms 64", then they would say, "No, maybe a vg 10?"
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.I wonder if they record the QA person for each slab that ships... and ask embarrassing questions when this sort of thing gets past.
Please post in the PCGS ERROR HALL OF FAME discussion. There will be others.
since the cert page matches the cert, it reasons the coins were switched and this isn't just a lowly mech error unless they are doubled mechanical error in this case?
How much do you want?
It would stand out in my Everyman set!
Pop 5 with 0 lower - rare!
A nice conversation piece. Ignore that low-baller above. I will pay you 100% above guide value. I have that $14 right here and ready to go.
Would CAC put one gold sticker on for every grade it's undergraded
Is there room on that slab for 15 stickers? It doesn't matter, it's all about the slab grade and the gold
Hopefully it would sell at auction better than that cricket
overgraded
Can PCGS management use the serial number on the slab to see who was the finalizer that performed the quality control check on this coin after it was slabbed?

Silver value is more than VG10 value. lol
I'd be surprised if CAC would tarnish their brand by gold stickering that.
"Got a flaming heart, can't get my fill"
Might could use CAC stickers to completely cover the offensive and incorrect grade...
Hey now...$14???
Go ahead.
You'll be buried with that heap forever.

Lafayette Grading Set
Somewhere out there is a heavily worn quarter in an MS63 slab.
I'm not sure that CAC would want to tarnish their brand by saying this quarter is not lock for at least two grade bumps. How can they justify not stickering this one unless it is cleaned or PVC or something drastic? If they did not sticker it would be like saying that in their opinion this quarter is not F15 quality or better.
I once saw a pair of nickels with the inserts switched, one was an ms65 1903 liberty head nickel and the other
a matte proof 65 1916 nickel. Was that ever an unholy pair! I actually go t to see this
and a few years ago I saw a 1918/7-d graded vf20 by ncg and it was no better than a vg10 or vg08 IMO.
