Roger Wills Longtime PNW coin dealer passes away today

Roger passed away today rather unexpectedly at home.
I had the distinct pleasure of being his sidekick attending Seattle area shows for the last 8 or 9 years, and if you knew Roger you can imagine the stories i have heard about : fellow dealers, deals gone wrong, deals gone right, tidy profits made and tidy profits lost, I had a beer with him Saturday and he of course had a story! 30 odd years ago he walked into his local book shop and the guy had 2 rolls of silver dollars he had taken on trade for books, Roger struck a deal and walked out with 40 1879-S Morgan’s ALL of them MS 64 or better, some he guessed would grade 66 or 67 now (Morgan dollars were his specialty) He then regaled me with how he sold them at a Show in the Tacoma Dome and what he traded for….
If you knew Roger you will remember him as a good friend even if you had just met him at a show….
Comments
I did not know Roger Wills personally, but I would like to send my condolences to his family and friends.

I'm very saddened to learn this.
I met Roger back in the early 1980's at the Seattle Center shows as well as the Tacoma shows when they were held at the Sherwood Inn (now Holiday inn (?)). Over the years, he seemed to come up with a gem coin (or three) amongst his hodgepodge groups of coins
I considered him a good friend and was glad to see him at the recent Boeing Employees Coin Club show January 15-16, 2022. I wished him the best and shook hands before I headed home on Sunday.
You were a great help to him at coin shows, Darryl. Thanks for watching out for him.
