Pay attention to the obverse of the 1913 type one 3 & 1/2 legged buffalo nickel, looks like this.

Pay attention to the obverse of the 1913 3 and one half legged buffalo nickel (ty.1) it will help you to identify it.
here is what to look for ( see following pictures) The die abrasion lines on both sides. It you run into a nickel with
the pictured die polishing markers on the obverse you may have a 3 and one half legged buffalo or you may not.
Apparently the damaged reverse die was removed and replaced with a new die. Eventually the obverse die was also
replaced which created two distinctive varieties.

That is one tough Buff to find. I have been looking at 1913 buffs to cherry-pick them and I can say that that has got to be one of the rarest varieties I’ve know of. I think there’s only under ten graded if I remember correctly.

What is between the 3rd feather and the first braid? It can't be a clash from the reverse.
thx for diagnostic
It is a clash from the reverse. Why not?
