Does PCGS recognize and would put the designation on a slab? I have 3 raw $20 libs I want to get graded eventually. I have doubling on my 1897-S. The O of dollars. On the bottom of ARS on Dollars. Mint mark looks filled in from another strike from the press. The top of the A in America. The edge of the ribbon by UNUM. The tops of the letters in America (Not pictured). This is about the best pics I can get. Camera phone sucks and gets too pixelated and fuzzy.
Throw a coin enough times, and suppose one day it lands on its edge.

unless you are trying to get a discovery/first reported, checking the pop reports or price guide will show if there are any varieties for a specific coin which should require an FS #.

From those pictures, I would say there is minor machine doubling.... Cheers, RickO
