that is odd. i thought for sure they had 99% switched to not only the 3 prong but the reduced lip 3 prong so it really can't be seen when cropping for images and also less distracting when looking at the coin.
there were a lot of folks not enamored with the prongs over the full-sized gasket, though i think for many reasons other than aesthetics, it is best to go with the 3 prong or something similar.

They have never used the prong holders on a Silver Dollar or Larger coin.

I think its the larger ase they dont. Just got back one today, all the other coins had prongs including silver dollars, except silver eagle.
