Curious if it isn't an option or if I'm doing it wrong. Is there a way to see what the auction price would be without being forced to accept the offer? It would be nice to be able to either accept or decline.

Im adding the cancel button Monday so you can see the auction price and then decline to auction.

Lots of fun! I’ll take some free money, this way, if possible.

    Thanks very much!

SO I clicked on AUCTION on a card that I just wanted to see the potential auction value and there was no way to get out of it. I auctioned off a card I didn't really want to. Able to fix that?

Yes will add soon. Here is my score for the day

  • ArtVandelayArtVandelay Posts: 699 ✭✭✭✭

My pull of the day was a VGA 10 Magic/Erving/Bird and a rack pack with a 1976 Walter Payton showing!

Pulled this bad boy last night. Keeping it sealed. lol

Seems like 1972 Clemente is priced incorrectly - have a PSA 10 I was going to sell and it quoted a top price of $225. Closed my browser to avoid selling.

This site is tons of fun - have sets of 1974-1978 baseball. Working on 1973 now and dabbling in 1968. Have a nice collection of star racks and cellos from those years as well.

Congrats on creating a really great website. Hope you are able to monetize it - would think it is a no brainer for BBCE to advertise on it!

Thanks! I fixed the 73 Clemente price - which was definitely off, but 72 seemed ok. I'm trying to build the audience first and then will think about monetization strategies later. I'm hiring someone right now to help gather the images, which is the main limiting factor in developing this faster. I'm aiming to put at least 100 pack options on the site by the end of the summer.

This is a lot of fun! Great concept. Very realistic results for me - all packs I opened were deemed well below average (just like real life!).

BTW - for anyone responding to this comment, I'll drop an extra 5000 "dollars" into your vintagerip.com account. 185,500 cards ripped and 1972 Topps coming this weekend.

Love the site! I’d take the 5 or 10k slush money if it’s still being offered. User name is Crpalmi

Where is the auction tab to see all cards on auctions ?

And cards that are for sale, at what price ?
Also, some of features are confusing..
I hit grade card & it says I dont have the funds Yet my acct now shows -$25,
Why would it do that If I didnt get graded ?
And is there a way to add funds ? buy fake spending $$

Under the games tab you can play Topps baseball fronts vintage and you win just about $200 every minute. It's so easy that if you get any wrong you don't belong in the hobby.

Thank you for the feedback. A few things:
    1. The auction function is just to generate $$$. It is not the kind of auction where other usually actually bid on your cards although as the site grows and gets more users, this could become a feature.
    2. People who "own" cards set sale prices. If they wish to sell them to other users, they can be found in the "public collections" section.
    3. What is your user name? I am happy to add $$$ to your account. I have just added a "cancel auction" button so you can decline to auction a card once you see the range of possible payouts.
    4. As Nam said, you can generate unlimited funds by playing the various games, or, buy auctioning off cards you've previously won.

Just seemed like the grader of death for a long stretch. The 10's were noticeably farther between and didn't hit consecutively at all. Seemed around 50-75% less, with a few stretches of nothing over a 6 or 7 for a lot longer than I've experienced. Obviously, I could be wrong, but went through about 100K in about 20 minutes and even the 3 stars pulled got a 5 or 6 (

On the flip side . . . loving the 86F! Nice to get Jordan in 1st pack, 1st card and bookended with a Jordan sticker!

    I agree...
First sitting a had a couple of 9's and 10's peppered in the grades.
Second sitting nothing but 5's and 6's with 1 9

That being said - I'm having a blast with the site!!
I'm disappointed that I can't "play with" some of the earlier racks due to them being soldout

I am jones-ing for the 1971 set and the 1967 set ... my two favorite years.

    Keep up the good work.

Nice pulls! Sometimes it does seem like there are long stretches of 5s and 6s, but the code that generates the grade picks the grade randomly from an array and each grade has an equal chance of occurring. Because of the fantasy theme, I decided to make it so tens come up as frequently as fives.

Lol. The best I could do was to maintain the integrity of rack pack and cello pack collation. I could probably sequence the fleer basketball packs, but beyond the terminating sequences associated with the major cards of the 70s and early 80s, I don’t know them well enough to make them accurate.
