I thought many of you on this forum would enjoy a project I am working that is probably best described as fantasy world for vintage ripping. Ever dreamt of ripping a 1953 Topps wax pack? How about a 1968 Topps Series 2 rack pack? How about any kind of pack from the 70s and early 80s baseball? This site allows you to simulate the experience without any guilt, investment, or regrets. It's nowhere near as fun or as suspenseful as ripping actual packs, but that doesn't mean it isn't a lot of fun. You can rip packs, collect packs, collect star packs, trade cards, "auction" cards, buy cards from other users, or even have the cards you ripped "graded." So far over 110,000 cards have been ripped and over 4,000 "graded." It's great for mindless ripping fun in the background of other programs you're using, for hard core collectors, for gamers, and for those who thrive on collecting competition.
The site starts you off with a $2500 ripping shopping spree. While that might be a good start, you'll have to earn your way up to buy the best packs. Earn money by competing in any of my 20 different money-earning games that test your knowledge of different sets, how fast you can identify cards, and how well you know vintage players. We even have a rack pack slot machine that can earn you more money if you land on key cards. You can also earn money by hitting big cards, having them graded, and then auctioning them off.
Maybe the best part of the site is that you can earn actual prizes that come in the form of "inserts" when you're opening packs. Several prizes have already been claimed and range from 1983 Topps rack baseball rack packs, or, 1984 fleer cello packs, to big prizes such as a 1984 Donruss rack pack with Don Mattingly showing on top, or, a 1981 Topps football rack pack with Joe Montana on the back. At the very least, the site is sure to entertain you, especially those of you who love to collect vintage cards. Again, 100% free.
If people like the site, and it continues to gain traction, I'll keep adding new sites and features. There may be a few bugs here and there, but overall, it's very functional. It seems that some people have fun with it and come back here and there, some try it out and lose interest, but others play it and become obsessed with it.

1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, and 1963 Topps now on the site for virtual ripping. Nearly 200,000 cards ripped.
Fun site. Games are cool, opening packs aid fun. Working on set building is fun. Great idea. Thanks for sharing.
One suggestion ( but definitely not a complaint as you worked hard on this and it is free and fun) - but for set collectors would help if it would go back to number order after selling a card. Makes it harder to sell dupes as you have to change it to number order each time.
Great Idea and thank you. There is a lot to implement and I'll definitely take your suggestion. I'm also looking to allow users to package up sets into a box or binder that can be stored, displayed, sold, or auctioned.
BTW - for anyone responding to this comment, I'll drop an extra 5000 "dollars" into your vintagerip.com account. 185,500 cards ripped and 1972 Topps coming this weekend.
Is this something that will be addressed?
This is just because the site doesn’t have an SSL certificate installed, not because there is any threat. Since you are not entering any sensitive information other than an email address, it’s ok, but yes, we will install the certificate in the coming weeks.
FYI auctions are erroring out for 1974 cards. Still work fine for me on 1975s.
Enjoying your site.
Four cello packs in on '78 Topps and no Murray or Molly. Bunch of BS .... LOL j/k
Very cool haha. I pulled two Mike Schmidt, a Rose, and a Morris RC

There are a few bugs here and there that I'm addressing including this one and the same thing for grading 1952 topps. Just added 1956 and 1972 Topps!
That bug is fixed.
Joe Lahoud 1978 is mis-identified with a Ted Simmons card fyi.

Some broke images in the 1972 high number series.

I'll look to fix those images. I added 10K to anyone who asked. Offer stands to new registrants as well.

Been a fun diversion.

I'm glad you're having fun with it. It is a blast to develop. I added 10K in your account. I'm thinking about adding a feature in which you can box sets up/unbox when you've collected all of the cards
Thanks. That would be cool to have the sets together.
Just signed up.
I'll take u up on the 10K
Thx.

I have no idea on whats up with Baseball Fronts game.
I tried 2x & no cards move at all !
no drag & drop, no nothing.
Could use more instructions on some of these.
also where do you see auctions or cards for sale ?
And past sale prices so we have an idea on $$
Thx !
Hi -
I'll add the 10k in your account in a few minutes. The site is still a work in progress and I've definitely taking all feedback I can get. I'm not sure why the vintage fronts aren't working for you, it seems to work fine from here and other users seem to have success with it also. I am adding a feature in which you can see relative value and approximate prices you'll receive for auctions.
I added 1965 Topps today. Taking a break tomorrow, then 1976 Topps football and 1984 Topps football. Let me know other sets that you want to see.
10k my way please. user name is totalt
Would love to see the following Football years: 1970-77 and Basketball 1957, 1961, 1969-77
Done!
For those of you who might have been curious about trying the site but did not want to register, you can now try the ripping feature from the home page without registering. Although it is much, much more fun to register, if you just want to try your luck at simulating ripping vintage packs, you can do so now at vintagerip.com
The site is a lot of fun and addicting. It actually runs the full gambit of collecting. You buy the pack and choose whether to open it or if a star is showing you keep the pack as is. Once you open the pack you can grade specific cards. Then you get into the set collecting aspect which is really well done too. Additionally, it lets you compile your favorite cards (per year for me) in one place.
It's a really well thought out site and as a long-time vintage collector, it has been fun. It definitely has an element of the chase as I have been trying like mad to get the Dawson rookie! I like that it is challenging.
Great job!
Sounds like fun, I'll take the 10k plz )
Sorry, forgot to add user name is same as here: Zixx
Got it10K added. Enjoy
You should limit packs per year and also give people the option to trade if they choose not to open. Once opened that year is for ever gone unless maybe a find in 5 years
Greg, the site is a lot of fun and very impressive!
I could use some assets too, please! Though I just pulled a 75 Ryan rack for $2500!
Grote15, of course..,
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Just an FYI. I have a couple cards with no image and just a question mark. I'm guessing there is an image problem. I found two in the 1976 FB set and I have a one other in a baseball but cannot remember where it was.
Thank you for the great feedback! I know there are some bugs in the system and some missing images here and here. I'll aim to have those resolved over the weekend. I'm thrilled you're enjoying the site! I'll be adding more sets. I average about 1 new set every two or three days.
Thanks Tim! I'm glad you're enjoying it. I've added 10K and congrats on the Ryan rack LOL
User name over there is toad strangler. Would love 10k!

PC Walter Payton - Bear Down!
I have thought about this a lot, but the feedback I've received is that people want to have the packs available to rip. > @JakeR2234 said:
did I undervalue it? There was a PSA 10 that just sold for $72,000. I figured PSA 8's ave. about $1500 or so, and PSA 9s, $5000 or so?
Haha, no Greg, that's my user name! You're spot on, just wanted to buy more packs! Thanks! Jake
PC Walter Payton - Bear Down!
duh! My fault LOL. Adding $$ now
Curious if it isn't an option or if I'm doing it wrong. Is there a way to see what the auction price would be without being forced to accept the offer? It would be nice to be able to either accept or decline.
