Friend of mine wants me to send this in along with my coins to be graded - it’s a very old coin.... anyone know much about it?

You'll have to do a separate submission for world, IIRC, but at least shipping is combined.
Massive amount of counterfeit portrait 8's, but sending it it in will answer that at least.
World forum guys might be able to help but You'll need better pics probably..

Would also need to see the reverse, to see which Latin American mint it was struck at. As Mark pointed out, the real experts are on the world forum, but many of them also post on this forum.
Yes have them over there take a look at it they are heavily counterfeited. Here is one in AU55.

I have one of those.... date is 1776.... I think mine is counterfeit, though seems to be real silver.... need to confirm whether it is fake or not. Cheers, RickO
