Does anyone have a AU58 GOLD CAC Gold Coin?
I can’t recall ever seeing a gold coin in AU58 with a GOLD CAC sticker.
Plenty in 55 and 60 or better.
My logic says putting a GOLD sticker on a 58 is sticking your neck out there that an AU coin is definitively mint state. With grades below or above 58, it’s simply stating it’s a better grade AU or better grade MS, but not a commitment of crossing that threshold from AU to MS.
Anyone have or know of an example? I feel there can’t be too many out there.

I just sold this one on the BST. That sticker is gold even though it doesn’t look like it at that angle.
What's the logic of the sticker again? It means best of the 55's or 70's etc? And in that case the CAC sticker on a 58 can cause it to cost more than a 60?
I bought it. First one I'd seen, and a holder (2.1) I didn't have. I've seen lots of 55s with gold beans, but never a 58 before.

My mind reader refuses to charge me....
Not a gold cac but a 58+ green cac. Is this similar; I don't know?
I was interested in that 1882 $5 too. Nice coin; congratulations!

The pop report on the CAC website contains this information. Once on the series page, there is a drop down menu where you can select “gold pop” and look at the total for the 58s.

Don’t have any gold coins but have three bust halves in 58 with a gold CAC.
And I agree, they are tough to find, likely in many series I imagine.

Gold is great.... double gold would be even better.....

That is very cool and on a scarce date within one of the most beautiful coin series IMO.
My mistake, you wanted gold bean...
You can check the CAC pop report.
I have this one

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Oh boy, and a phenomenal one it is!

@Justacommeman that's really nice. Makes me want to get back into old gold.
it could "cost" more than a 63...the only way to find out is at auction.
Nice!!
