This 1916d mercury dime is in a pcgs generation 4.4 holder.
I apologize about the picture quality and smudge on the holder.

What would would guess the grade to be?

Second issue is the reverse is rotated maybe 5 degrees to the left.

Is this normal?
Does this rotation make this coin more valuable?
Should I resend the coin in?

I look forward to your comments.

Thank you for your comments: vg8

I'd like a close-up pic of the mintmark.

Is this picture of the mint mark good enough?

The die rotation is something I've seen on every one I've owned. It is a diagnostic of a genuine coin

I would go with 10 and I did not know of the die rotation diagnostic either.

I say VG8. Coins with less than 10 or 15 percent rotation have no premiums. The most valued rotated dies are 90 to 180 degrees rotated.

VG8? Interesting about the rotation. I had a nice 16-D for a while (long gone now) and never noticed that about it.

I see quite a few with the rotation but every now and then.......

there's a distinct die rotation for each of the 4 mintmark types, they aren't profound but can help with authentication.
