I love that coin and its originality, just not at that price. I cannot tell from the pics if the toning adds or detracts from value, but from Stack's photos, I'm leaning toward the unattractive side.
Not my cup of tea. I once bought a similar looking coin sight unseen mostly because it had a green sticker. I quickly determined that what I like and what JA likes when it comes to Peace dollars doesn't match up perfectly. That's OK. He's still way smarter than me.
That type of toning on P $1's hides a lot of marks and seeing a few on the reverse I feel it's already properly graded or a gift at MS65. Since the gold bean doesn't guarantee an upgrade it's just a ho-hum original dollar with a fancy sticker.

Just curious and trying to better understand the peace $ market.
I don't plan on bidding on it but my curiosity is where it will end because of the gold sticker. I'm sure it will be more than MS66 money. Without the sticker, imo it would be $250 +/- coin.

I have seen quite a few unattractive Peace dollars with stickers. I def would not encourage anyone to buy sight unseen.

Will be interesting to see the hammer prices... Yet with 42 watchers many being due to your thread the poor seller might be glancing at Corvettes on FB marketplace?

After eBay fees and shipping the coin either broke even (if there is an eBay store with reduced rates) or lost money based on the $960 it brought at Stacks. It's somewhat interesting that the Stacks and eBay final prices were fairly close.

Stick it in a SDB for 20 years and come back to a nearly black coin. That is a risk. I don't see the value in the toning nor have sticker shock in this one.
Mark, I've seen this coin in hand, it's has fully original surfaces, I graded it MS-66. Clearly the toning does not appeal to many but it's much more attractive than the images. Luster is good and there are some attractive colors although not the type of vibrant colored toning that many seek and pay huge premiums for.

It will be interesting to see the result. It is already approaching 66+ money.
It sold at Stacks in their Nov 2021 sale for $960. It will be interesting to see if the final eBay price is similar.

That coin does nothing for me regardless of the ultimate price.
Pics are not good.
Common date, meh.

Coin itself looks super clean, just unattractive toning. Send it to PCGS for restoration and who knows how high it could come back.
Might be some registry set people wanting to upgrade.... Could drive the price up....Cheers, RickO

I sure hope that he has next month's rent paid.
A $200 coin with an $800 sticker on it. Negative eye appeal on the toning in my book.

Yikes. Can’t believe the final price…over $1,000.
A shiny gold sticker can’t improve the look of ugly brown toning…or so I thought.
Has anyone here who’s dissed the coin, seen it in hand? I much prefer to give the benefit of the doubt to those who have.
