Hi guys,
What the... Look what was at my front door this evening, Literally. To my surprise.
First of all, wasn't expecting this package until February. That's the Happy part. Now, the Upsetting part. This time my mailman left the box on my stoop. No notifications, No hiding the box between my two front doors and No signature requests! I couldn't anyway, wasn't home. Yesterday, my first package arrived by the mailman and when he/she realized I wasn't available for the signature, they left it at the Post Office for me to pick up in the morning. In which, I did. But not this time. Boy' O' boy! Like I said, very ,very happy to receive my second package early but to think what might of happened if my box got spotted by the wrong eyes? Shhhhh!
Will show what I got later, if interested?
Thanks :o

Let us know what you got!

Covid rules changed the way the of signature required deliveries. Now the postal employee can sign for it and leave it on your doorstep.

I haven't signed for a package in almost 2 years. USPS, UPS and FedEx. Nada. Coins and medicine. Several packages over $2K. Why offer and charge for a service and not follow through.

    I have with FedEx.

The USPS used to leave a card in your mailbox stating you could pick up your package at the Post office if you weren't home. Safer delivery that way. I dont know why they would just leave packages lying around for thieves to steal.

Saturday morning. Perhaps it was a different delivery person ( part time, weekends). Your not alone with this problem but that’s all I can think of. Glad it worked out 👍🏼

That's actually a very cool die clash, especially for the modern age. I am not certain I would spend $65 plus shipping to grade it, though. I think you are fine with it in its current holder and if you ever go to sell it, it is obvious what it is with minimal explanation. Nice find.

Talk to your mailman about that! They cannot be doing that with valuable items.

My mailman said something about not requiring signatures during the pandemic. Maybe asking/insisting on them would help, if I were expecting truly valuable coins.

It's strange to someone new to coins, but a coin "error" is what happens to an individual coin, while a die error is called a "variety" because it exists on multiple coins.

David W. Lange has a good article on this in Mint Error News:

Nice die clash Joey.... All the services are now leaving packages in front of the door/on the porch. Then they take a picture and leave. Seems signature requirements have gone away with the pandemic.... Not sure they will return. Cheers, RickO

In my experience during the Covid era, the mailperson will ring our doorbell and not leave a signature required package until they have confirmed we are at home.

While we do not actually sign for the parcel, they will not leave it until they are sure it is in our hands. Is that unique to our area?

  • YQQYQQ Posts: 3,239 ✭✭✭✭✭

So, take the worst and the whole parcel, or some contents, will vanish????
will Insurance ask for a signature??? what, regardless of content, you had in mind NOT to accept it for your own reasons what if it has been pilfered and resealed?
too many questions for expensive shipping...and probably way too many questions from the insurers.

That's two threads today that have mentioned instagram. I'm not social enough for those social networks.

Instagram used to be a photo sharing network that was pretty cool. Then Facebook bought it, added tons of ads,
linked it to Facebook, changed it's search/display engine, and will probably change it's name to Metagram.
