The Birth of the Half Unions

Looking at one last document for the day, I came across this treat (not being facetious, though my wife might be, if she had said this). The document is a letter from HR Linderman to Congressman William J. O'Brien and is attached.

Every time I see reference to these, I start wondering what exactly Snowden and Woodin traded to get these back, and without that trade, how many patterns might not be in collectors hands today.
