They’re wildly different venues. On IG people scroll through images and can quickly like what cool thing they see. Here, someone has to read the title, be interested enough to open the thread, read the thread, and then decide if they want to click like or reply. These boards are often host to real discussions while IG is more immediate gratification and less deep thinking.
I’d say the deep thinking on this forum is a fraction of 1% these days
Very good discussion. That makes me thinking to post some coins on Facebook. I have a Facebook account for more than 10 years maybe even 20 years but I never use it.
Note: IMO the thread blew up because of the Spam photo, so I thank you for that.

I'm not sure if that's good or not on Instagram. I’m curious how many reactions the most popular coins have on each platform. Anyone know or have some candidates?
I’m not sure how long it took, but this has 28k likes on Pinterest, where PCGS also has an account.
Ig is great for instant gratification and eye candy. I enjoy it and have made several connections. Also done lots of buying and selling. Like anything you have to weed through the many users to find quality posters or those who share similar taste.

The good thing is that it's pretty easy to look at what someone has posted to see if you like it and want to see more.
That's like comparing a camera and a cellphone. One specializes in one area while another does almost everything.
I've found you on IG and find it amazing how many wild error coins you find and I've read some of your posts here too. I do not always click "like" or leave a comment on either platform. If I were in the market to buy an error coin from you, I probably would find you on IG and scroll through all your photos, unless you had a website like DCarr has, then I'd go right there.
Great post @ErrorsOnCoins
I don't mind if you participate on IG as long as you maintain your presence here also.
I enjoy your posts, comments, fish stories and of course your fantastic errors.

I think I found it, it's CTF Error coins? Great! Thanks. I've already started looking at some cool errors. I never realized how many mistakes make it out of the mint..

Hi and thank you.
Just a heads up, Ebay can afford better software and you can enlarge the photos much bigger on my eBay store (link on Bottom) than on my website.
This not a solicitation, its just a better viewing pleasure.

the difference is this: Insta viewers live on Insta. Forum viewers drop in from time to time, obviously not on a Sat. morning.
It's all been said at this point, but they are entirely different venues, I imagine.
Sounds like Instagram is a place to sell. Aside from the BST, this is not.
I’d say the deep thinking on this forum is a fraction of 1% these days

This may be unsurprising to many, but with any social media platform you get what you put into it.

I have made just as many important and serious hobby connections on IG as on this forum. It’s not all for 15 year olds.

Wow, I just posted a third Instagram post (including OP) since I started this thread.
The first coin sold in 5 minutes after I posted it on Instagram
The second coin sold in 3 minutes after I posted it on Instagram
The third (todays) coin sold in 2 minutes after I posted it on Instagram
Maybe I should post everyday, just wow
