Grades in beat down

Got my grades back from my recent submission - got smoked! To be fair, the main reason to do this was to encapsulate coins from my grandfathers collection with a few Buffs thrown in that were going to maybe pay the bill. Clearly I can't grade buffs. The only cleaned coins that surprised were the Barber dimes, thought they were good. Anyway, at least my grandfathers coins are in a holder, but a bit of a waste really.

When and how did you send them, and how much was the cost? (if you don't mind saying)
Sent in beginning of October under economy.
Sent in the beginning of October under Economy tier.
Good to protect them for the family..

Ahh, sorry, dude. Did your gramps clean them? At least the 1892 Quarter came back decent? Just trying to think positive.

Here's a suggestion. If PCGS hasn't shipped out your coins yet. For a tribute to your Grandpa. You can do what I've done for my late father? Place a request in to PCGS if they would title each coin with something about grandpa? Example,
"Gramp's Coins". Or "Grandfather's Collection". I had this done for a few coins my Dad self Engraved 5 Morgan/Peace Dollars for his 5 kids when we were born.
Our names and birthdays. PCGS graciously placed, "Dad's Dollar" on 3 of the 5. Two more to go. I don't think PCGS charges anything, maybe? Here are a couple of mine. I feel, if you would have this done. Who really cares if "cleaned" or not. They're your Grandfathers coins! Right? Good Luck
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line. That's a good idea, but they shipped already. This was more about protection than value, except for the Buffs. Probably going to throw those to the local coin auction and see what happens.
Do you think if you asked nicely, PCGS would engrave the coins, as well as giving a custom title on the label?
At least you got a nice grade on that 1892 Barber quarter... If this is your first submission, then 4/8 or 50% is great. It's all a learning process, and will help you get better on future submissions.
if it helps to ease the pain, i got smoked on some digital coins recently simultaneously watching another go 3-4x. that one is going to sting for a while! (its usually only a waste if you don't try because NO BS, the biggest losses i've taken in numismatics were from NOT sending the coins off stat)
once the swelling goes down, perhaps you'll post one of the cert #s and we can go over a few of the coins?
Waiting for trueviews to be uploaded. Once I get them I'd love some feedback! Yep, paid for trueviews as well...
alright!
fwiw, if you go regular service or higher, TV are automatically included thesedays thankfully.

Good idea to preserve your Grandfather's coins, but you also could self slab if you intend to keep the coins. Cheaper and works well. Cheers, RickO
