ANACS graded it AU55/55. My thoughts even with the coin in hand I go back and forth between AU58 and MS62. If I had to guess, PCGS would give it the rare AU58+ grade.
Need a Barber Half with ANACS photo certificate. If you have one for sale please PM me. Current Ebay auctions

Maybe some rub or luster break on the cheek and forehead hair?
I’d say AU58, but could be low MS.
Neat clashes!
Is it toned this color or is the white balance off?

I’m thinking 58+

That's a tough one. I'm leaning more towards AU than MS.
White balance is off. It's a neutral grey.
Ok I was guessing so but curious. Assuming this is one of your old photo certs I'm going to say AU55

I updated the photos to a more natural look.
While I’m not particularly confident in this, I’ll go with Unc.

High AU.
Looks like slight rub... I'll call it AU58.
58/62; let the graders decide.
AU
Yes. Somewhere right in there. AU59.
Methinks Unc.

AU 58.
The wear I’m seeing is in the hair from behind ear down the neck in the curls.

I’m thinking MS as I see zero evidence of any rub. I think what I’m seeing on the high points of the coin might be some sort of friction from a coin album. It’s a very tough call from the pics or any pics for that matter.
I'm gonna go with MS and blame the indecision on a wearing die and not fully striking up
Tough pic to judge.

UNC because; I see the small reverse die cracks at 11:00 and 1:00, so maybe the "wear" is actually a worn die. Just a WAG. Tough pic.
I bought one at the Baltimore show that looked a lot like that for 58 money... it holdered at 63.

Looks low MS from the pics.
AUnt or UNCle? Not sure.
Very slight rub, high AU.
I'd say AU.

First thought was AU, but the more I looked at it, the more UNC it looked.
I'm thinking Unc with a slight haze that will come off in acetone.
If it's not haze then it's probably a very fine rub on the obverse.
Ha! Is that original?
Can't tell, need to see in hand..
Impossible to tell from that pic. Could be either an AU58 slider or a MS. Needs to be examined in hand under good lighting.

I'll say ms 62 .we shall see
AU 58 ...
agreed

You guys know the drill!
Buyer = AU58
Seller = MS63
AU58
Looking like low MS to me.... Could go either way in hand.... Cheers, RickO

LOL! Your grade just adds to the debate!
Does that mean I win the coin for being the only correct answer?

In my own sense of "how it should be" an AU58 is a coin that has a trivial bit of rub that you have to search for. Anything more than that should be AU55.
The so-called "standards" of today have wandered a great distance from such a viewpoint. Very clear and visible wear is now graded MS62 if the coin is otherwise stellar. It's just the reality of today's market.
In other words, an old photocert at AU55 is often the same as today's MS62.
Especially since, as far as I can tell ANACS never used AU58 on photo certificates. I've seen probably over a thousand of them and own several hundred and I have never seen the grade AU58/58. If the graders believed the coin had rub, the highest grade they could assign was AU55/55. If someone has an AU58/58 photo certificate, I would love to see it.
This was a fun exercise.
Send it back for reconsideration. 😉

" In other words, an old photocert at AU55 is often the same as today's MS62."
Could not agree more. Lots of rub ( from what ever source) on even higher grades I have seen.
Fudging wear away by well it's "so and so kind of rub so it's still unc.

At the time ANACS was issuing certificates, AU58 was not being used as a grade.

I'm looking at somewhere between MS1 and MS70! In reality AU55
