One of my most exciting events as a young man was back in June 1973, attending the Belmont Stakes with 69,000+ other fans, and watching live as Secretariat won that race by a record 31 lengths, a record that still stands today, almost 50 years later! One of the most electrifying events in sports history! I shared that day with my father-in-law, who is still alive today.
