You can see the date TWICE! I don't know what happened, but that coin needs to get a do over.

@Zoins Why did you start a thread and then delete the opening post? Others here have done the same thing. I'm going to have to start using the quote feature more often in the future on the opening post.

Some of the responses had me concerned that the forum rules may have been violated and I wanted to stop this type of posts. Here's the rule I'm thinking of:
PCGS Forum Rules and Guidelines - Updated 4/19/2021
Posts must not contain libelous (accusatory, attacking) remarks concerning any individual, company, or other entity.
I'm concerned the following posts may violate the rule mentioned above, and as the thread starter, I'm responsible for what happens in the thread. I hope people will be more mindful of the forum rules.

Yup. That was the coin Zoins posted in the opening post with the blundered label. The label says "No Date" yet the date is clearly visible. Also, what is a "Jammed Strike"? Is this a new type of mint error?

Yes. The last strike was the off center ‘exit strike’ which ejected the die cap out of the collar…

Now that we have established that the label refers to a different coin entirely, I would still like to know what a "jammed strike" is. I have dabbled in errors for a few years, and am unfamiliar with the term.

Always fun to randomly come across a coin you recognize in print. Check out the issue of COINage magazine below from February, 1989. You might say they "jammed" the OP coin right on the cover.
@DNADave It's a very oddly-shaped coin. You've neglected to account for the tilt of the coin in the cover photo. We're simply viewing the coin from different angles in each photo. It is definitely the same coin.

“No Date”
Hmm. Is this an error label too?
The date is an issue. Is it still a Jammed Strike?

Sure looks like a readable date to me.

I don't know why it was described as "jammed." I'd bet it was a mistake, no pun intended.
The label also says it’s a cent and not a nickel, clearly the label was meant for another coin.
Good catch! Clearly a mechanical error.
Now, I need to go find the actual jammed strike coin!
I'll ask our host to delete this thread as it's clearly a mistake.

Label error.

Yes that label obviously is incorrect

As requested, despite the odd reaction.

Jammed strike - short hand, one-liner, for Die Cap with Brockage?
Always fun to randomly come across a coin you recognize in print. Check out the issue of COINage magazine below from February, 1989. You might say they "jammed" the OP coin right on the cover.
Not the same coin IMO. Look at nose area of top strike
Look again, my friend.
@DNADave It's a very oddly-shaped coin. You've neglected to account for the tilt of the coin in the cover photo. We're simply viewing the coin from different angles in each photo. It is definitely the same coin.
Same coin. Different angles and lighting.

Mechanical errors happen in all walks of life; this one led to some relevant discussions and I learned a little which I always consider a good thing!
