1926 Lincoln 1C

When looking at the date on this coin I can't help but to think if there's a number hiding behind the number two in the date 1926. It kind of reminds me of the Mercury dime 1942/1. Maybe it's just a striking defect or something I don't know I'm just an amateur. Pardon my asking such a petty question and taking up the feed with such juvenile post but I would appreciate any feedback as to your opinions. Thanks in advance.

Looks like a case of pareidolia as a result of very high magnification. I always say that everything looks like something under an electron microscope. I would suggest not using the high magnification, you will see lots of stuff that is not there that way.

Agreed, and please crop your images to the specific details in question... your post takes about 6 linear feet of my monitor!

I can see what you are referring to, however, it appears to be just part of 96 years of wear and tear in commerce. Cheers, RickO
