I'm having trouble making out the date on this penny. The composition of the coin itself is something off metal. I'm only an amateur so I'm not sure. For the longest I thought the date on the coin was 1918! but now I'm not so sure. Any guesses? Thank you very much in advance

It's a 1918
HAPPY COLLECTING
1918, heavily circulated and corroded.
It's been damaged. Probably 1918 but it's hard to be certain.
It IS NOT off metal, just a normal cent with circulation damage
it seems to have the very to of the 1
not many other digits will fit in that space
Looks damaged
Just a damaged 1918, as I said before too much magnification has you chasing ghosts.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
From the third picture I am thinking 1938 because there seems to be some sort of a loop on the top - just saying.......

Probably 1908. That makes it a very rare lincoln cent!
Looks like 1918.... Just a standard, damaged, circulated Lincoln cent. Cheers, RickO
Looks like it could be 1918.
Without a doubt, 1908
