Antonio Brown isn't done with his clown show, he lashed out at Tom Brady.

Antonio Brown: Tom Brady only acts like a friend because he 'needs me to play football'

Antonio Brown is officially a free agent after he was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday and he spent part of his Friday dismissing the notion that quarterback Tom Brady is a close friend.

"To me, a friend is someone who's got your back," Brown said on the Full Send Podcast. "Not everybody in sports is going to be your friend. Tom Brady's my friend why? Because I'm a good football player. He needs me to play football. People have different meanings of what friendship is."

Brown, 33, first joined forces with Brady when he signed with the New England Patriots in 2019. The receiver played only one game with the team before he was released amid mounting allegations of sexual assault. A year later, Brown reunited with Brady in Tampa Bay after an eight-week suspension.

His time with the Buccaneers ended in dramatic fashion when Brown ripped off his uniform on the sideline and headed to the locker room shirtless during the third quarter of a Week 17 game against the New York Jets.

During parts of Brown's podcast appearance Friday, the receiver was complimentary of Brady, who he said is in the "business of winning." However, he dismissed the notion that the quarterback deserves all the credit for the team's success.

"Brady can't do s*** by himself," Brown said. "But you guys are going to make it seem like he's just this heroic guy. Bro, we all humans, bro. We're all dependent on somebody else to do the job."

In 15 games with the Buccaneers over two seasons, Brown caught 87 passes for 1,028 yards with eight touchdowns.

Finally released by Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Antonio Brown decided it was time for him to lash out at almost everyone associated with his previous team with him beginning with Tom Brady.

Beleaguered by the prove it contract he was on with the Bucs, Brown said Tom should have ensured he got a better salary. He was also not in a mood to listen to people’s claims about Tom’s greatness with him talking about how the signal caller was inept of doing things on his own.

“If Tom Brady’s my boy, why am I playing for an earnest salary?” Brown said. “You my boy, though, right? Gronkowski is his boy, right? How much did he get paid? So, why is AB on a prove-it deal? Who’s better than me over there? Let’s be real!” Brown said.
