Today at the Mint...

January 5th 2022, any thought on what the mint is striking today?

Proof Morgans with a million privy marks at San Francisco is my guess, since the matte finish was popular but collectors clamor for the traditional PL appearance of MS coins.

And Philly? Probably bangin' out the quarters for this year. The overall quality of clad coins has skyrocketed in the past few years, a far cry from 2008 when all hell seems to have broken loose at the mint.

Strangely enough, I have not given even the slightest thought to what the mint may be doing. After a bit of reflection, I know why - I just don't care. Cheers, RickO

The only thing I might do is check the USM production schedule to see what the lottery dates are for what I'm interested in. I would really like visit one of the mint facilities while on vacation and actually see what they are minting that day.

Check the regular us mint website. Tours are closed.

@MsMorrisine Visiting the mint and being fortunate enough to take a tour is just something that is in my bucket list.

That's a lot of verbage with very little to say. Upon reflection, I know why....there is no tarnish to complain about :D
