GA - Alabama Championship game Monday night

MCMLVToppsMCMLVTopps Posts: 4,839 ✭✭✭✭✭

Had a buddy buy me a $200 win ticket at the Venetian in Vegas this week. I'm all in for GA. The line was GA -150, making them a pretty good favorite. If I win, its a $133.35 win, as the ticket pays $333.35. Thoughts on the upcoming game?

Hopefully this is what Saban will look like at the end of the game.

I'd like to see Georgia win, if for no other reason than to shake things up.

Georgia is certainly going to remember getting beat in the SEC championship game by Alabama and that should motivate them to want revenge, it should be a better game than the last time they played.

I'm not a fan of either team, But I will watch the entire game. I've always had this question through the years. If you don't like either team, can they both LOSE?

My guess is that it will be another boring Alabama blow-out.

To All you Alabama alumni disregard this post.
Am I the only one tired of seeing Alabama penciled in to the Championship Game every year? Nothing against Alabama but wouldn’t it be nice to see 4 other teams playing?
It’s like the Patriots for 20 years. Wasn’t it a nice break last year? I’m not a Patriots hate. In the Super Bowl I usually rooted for them because or the AFL connections.
The advantage Alabama has in recruiting shows every Saturday. Alabamas second string could beat most college teams.
Hopefully it’s not another blow out.

I think a lot of people are tired of Alabama, most are used to it and welcome the fact that Clemson is t playing them

I think Alabama is going to destroy Georgia so prepare for another Championship for them.

Of course they are. Nothing has changed from a month ago. Give Saban a couple of weeks to prepare a game plan for a team they’ve already beaten? Ugh

If I relied on the history of Alabama, I wouldn't have put up 2 benjamins to buy a ticket. These are mutually exclusive events.

Saban has different players, as does Georgia. Georgia's mental mistakes led to their loss in the SEC championship, 2 pics, and one for a pic 6, another false start while GA was going on 4th and 9, forced a punt. Little things made the difference, but they were GA's unforced errors, albeit big errors. I was pretty impressed with GA's performance in the Orange Bowl, and their QB looked like he was dialed in.

We'll see how it goes, I seriously doubt it'll be a crusher or blow out either way. Makes it more fun to have some skin in the game anyway.

Saban is indeed a brilliant coach, however, he stands on the sidelines, never touches the football. Most of these players are just out of High School by 1, 2 or 3 years. There's a lot of emotion built into this event, mistakes get made and also brilliant plays are made. I'd be surprised if there weren't a bit more pass interference, holding and pre-snap violations.

I plan to enjoy the game, win or lose. I'm all-in with Georgia. I'm happy with my $200 bet. If I lose, I lose, doesn't impact my life not one scintilla. I'm hoping for an exciting, close game.

BTW, I actually have a neighbor who is an Alabama alum. When an Alabama game gets tight, or a big critical play is at hand, she literally leaves the room and can't watch the play. CRAZY!!!

    GO DAWGS

Tks, I agree, should be a good game. I really think Georgia will win, not a blow out, close, exciting game, maybe 10 pts or less.

Can't wait for this one. Can only hope for a repeat drama filled match like the Tua OT game. The best title game of the CFP era.

    ROLL TIDE ROLL

As Saban's radio show concluded, Saban shared one more thought after host Eli Gold thanked him for a season’s worth of radio shows. It came after his final word, which is usually reserved for a message to fans prior to the upcoming game. But this was a message to his UA players.

“If somebody on the school bus when you’re in school tells you, ‘We’re gonna fight when we get off the school bus,’ you’re not gonna let them get the first punch,” Saban said. “So you’ve gotta be ready, we’ve all gotta be ready to start fast and finish strong and play well for 60 minutes in the game. That’s what we’re hoping our players will be ready to do.”

No rat poison analogies for Saban tonight. With Georgia being a 2.5 point favorite that should be plenty enough of a talking point on the flip side

I make money if Alabama doesn’t lose by more than 2.5

I make more money if Alabama wins.

I make even more money if Alabama wins and the point total goes north of 52.5

The score will probably be Georgia 20 Alabama 10

Ribs are prepped and rubbed. Since I'm down a smoker and a grill they're gonna be oven done. Last time I did crock pot ribs and those came out bomb, figure these should be great too.

If Georgia is the favorite, the odds makers are on drugs. Georgia should be getting 10 points at least.

Not if. Georgia was 2.5 pt favorites at kick off. It opened at -3 ten days ago. The public only moved the line 0.5.

At 6 - 9 . Well Cleveland does need a kicker and at the 13th draft pick this is a Hell of a better pick than another 5 foot 9 quarterback
