J.B. Schiller Counterstamp on 1860 Indian Cent

I recently picked up this very cool Louisiana Civil War Token. As the article linked at the bottom of this post describes, J.B. Schiller owned Sazerac House in New Orleans during the Civil War and is credited for inventing the Sazerac cocktail. All known Schiller counterstamps are on 1860 Indian cents, and the reverse is marked with a large X, revaluing the piece from one cent to 10 cents. I really enjoy thinking of the uses this token may have had. I also really like Sazeracs. If anybody else owns one of these please post photos.

Nice coin--- I like it!
Nice pickup of a very scarce counterstamp and civil war-era token. There aren’t many of these around, especially unaccounted for examples. 👍🏻

Way cool!! It's nice to know the story behind them. Now I have something else to look for.
I too would love to find one of those!
Also love Sazeracs 🤗
Interesting coin/history. I have never tried a Sazerac....Probably will not. Cheers, RickO
