They call it a mechanical error. They'll fix it for free but they may not cover the shipping costs.

havent taken pics yet. the label has the morgan picture in the upper right hand corner of the blue label.
i will try to post a pic.
its an older proof eagle 2008 , think ill just keep it as it is.
They accidentally made your proof eagle more valuable. People like these sorts of mechanical errors. I'd list it on eBay at a BIN price that will enable you to replace it with a properly labeled one and bank a nice profit, then see if you get any bites.

I have had first strike labels added on the wrong coin before, and I also have a 2020 W silver eagle with a 2020 S label. Have seen others as well, and I know there are some out there who pay a slight premium for these errors.

thanks messydesk, wouldn't know what a good bin price would ebe.
Maybe they had some left over labels laying around and thought nobody would question them on an ASE

Looking at some of the sold listings for 2008 PR70 eagles, the prices range from $65 for a true auction of one in a normal holder to $180 for some of the signed ones. Put a BIN at $240, noting the Morgan commemorative label, and accept offers. See if you can get $175 for it.

i can could see this label on a morgan dollar but not on an ASE.
Well it seems it was strictly for Morgans - 100th anniversary label.

@guy1216... Some collectors like these anomalies. If you prefer the proper label, sell this one for a profit, and then get one slabbed the way you like it. I think you will easily cover the cost and hassle of sending it back. Cheers, RickO
Thanks RickO !
