Your coin might be a counterfeit, or damaged.
1895-O dollars were made with the O mint mark in New Orleans,
and 1895-S dollars were made in San Francisco.
In a day or two you should be able to post photos, and these might show if your coin is a counterfeit.

Is it possible that it can be an error
No, it is not possible it is an error. If your mintmark is actually a D then you likely have a counterfeit piece. Another possibility is a damaged O as yosclimber noted.
@Steveoko.... Welcome aboard. As noted above, your coin is either a counterfeit or has a damaged O mint mark. Pictures will allow us to determine what you have. Cheers, RickO
Once in a while somebody comes in the shop with counterfeit morgans, several have date and MM combonations that dont exist.
Oh I might add, about 6-8 months ago, older fellow (probably quite well off, based on who it is) One of family members of a very prominent family in the resturant business in this area) anyway, came by to have me look at some morgans he had been purchasing, all fake. well on the way home yesterday, he called back and wanted me to look at em again.
I told him nicely, Mr C if they were fake last time I looked em, there going to be fake again!
