Show examples of coins that you would normally buy except you did not because of negative eye appeal.

I could add coins to this list all day every day.

Here is one that popped up just now ........ :o

I do not keep photos of coins I did not buy, but I agree that like you I could add a ton of coins to this thread if I had kept photos of those coins.

So many coins I have not purchased due to carbon spots are innumerable. Sometimes they were so beautiful I felt I might buy them anyway, but most always backed out. Once I see a carbon spot, nothing else is visible. Obviously rim nicks falls into this category of coins not worthy of purchasing when seeing the nicks. Here is an 1804 Draped Bust Half Cent that I loved but had a rim defect that just stares at you. I bought it but soon after sold it.

Negative eye appeal, as a reason for not buying, would cover hundreds of thousands of coins I have looked at over the years. That would be a major reason for not acquiring a coin. Cheers, RickO

"Negative eye appeal" is an oxymoron. My high school English teacher would be disappointed. That's a cool error though!

Should it be "eye unappeal"? ;)
