$10 Indians

Sadly, the coins needed to complete a date set (1920-S, 1930-S and 1933) are all show stoppers.

Very nice. Has the entire ser been to CAC? I was surprised more didn't have stickers.
    Congrats on your collection.

    Congrats on your collection.

Many of these coins were purchased at a small premium to spot over the past 15 years, and the ones with CAC stickers were purchased that way. I have not sent any to CAC, but I am happy to hear they look nice. :)

This is a collection I did not intentionally set out to pursue. When I realized I had accumulated many of the dates for a Registry date set, I went ahead and added the ones I needed to get it to this point.

I would love to finish the set, but the remaining coins for a date run (1920-S, 1930-S and 1933) are well beyond my spending comfort level. :#

That's a good way of putting it... I could afford to buy some very expensive coins. But I just can't see doing that... 🙂

A gorgeous group of stellar Indians. The design is also over the top and my favorite gold coin.
Congratulations on such a nice set👌

    Nicely done!
My favorite gold coin type too!
I had the same realization a few years ago - that I had picked up over the years almost a complete AU-BU date set run of these - but mine are all raw. So like you, I completed the remaining years (except for the 3 toughies you mentioned). My 1916-s is the only one certified - still looking for a raw one.
    .

    You have a beautiful set!!!

The 1916-S was my most recent addition and even though it is labeled with the lowest grade in my set (61), it cost me 3x what I was used to paying for Indians thanks to its rarity and the fact that coin prices have decided to spike over the last 12-18 months.

Nice sets posted! I met a collector about four years ago who was building a set and asked if there were any albums for the series. I don't have his contact anymore but would love to build the book.

I have imagined how cool it would be to have a Dansco album full of raw Saint Gaudens $20s. B)

Does Dansco make any albums for gold coins? Perhaps an album for a 12 piece type set?

I don't think they offer albums for gold coins.

Don't they have gold pages for the 7070 type set album?

    Good point.

Guess I should revise my statement to say that I am unaware of any Dansco albums made solely for gold US coinage. That said, I would be happy to buy one if I am proven wrong. o:)

I just checked the Dansco website. While I didn't see any albums specifically for US Gold Coinage, they do seem to have expanded into offering albums for casino chips and baseball cards.

@csdot and @PerryHall to the best of my knowledge, no manufacturer of albums has ever made a dedicated album for gold coins. Dansco came the closest with the gold type page for the 7070.

My quick internet research ( at least with respect to the Dansco company's website) supports The_Dinosaur_Man's findings on this topic. o:)

    .

I've found that you can turn the Dansco stock book album into anything you want. It was a nice coincidence that the complete date set of $10 Indians fit on one page.
The date set for Saints that you hoped they'd make an album for takes a page and a half. (less the '21 and '29 etc)
A complete set of Peace dollars fits perfectly on two pages.

This is blasphemy. and will probably doom your thread, but some coins that are just below the threshold of slabbing can be protected and displayed very nicely this way. Until Dansco makes specific albums for gold sets, I'll do it this way.

Speaking of low page count albums, if I remember correctly, my Dansco Liberty Nickel album is only 1 page (though it may have come with a 2nd blank page?) while my Franklin Half and Peace Dollar albums are 2 pages each.

On the other end of the spectrum, I definitely got my monies worth with the Washington Quarter album, Lincoln Cent album and the 7070.
